IN further proof of the need for good staff retention strategies, a new study has found job switching is costing the economy $6 billion a year. The survey, by Recruitment company 1stExecutive, found staff mobility had risen dramatically in the past six years. NSW is faring better than Queensland and Victoria but is still facing an employee-intitiated-turnover bill of $2.1 billion. A spokesman said the study reinforced the findings of an earlier report showing employee loyalty was a waning concept, with 75 per cent of employees planning a move in the next two years.
